I loved science as a kid! I tried to make up my own experiments a few times and kept a little notebook to write down what I did. I once tried to make nitrogen from nitrogen fixing bacteria in plants (they are in the little blobs on the roots of plants like legumes and peas). I did little chromatography experiments to see what dyes went into textas – you might have done this experiment as well. I also had a toy microscope though it took me a long time to figure out how to use it. And I once tried to dissect my cousin’s dead goldfish to see what it was like inside..look..it was already dead…but I didn’t in the end..
Yes I did. Mostly I liked learning about science and how things worked. I had a chemistry set and a microscope and I used to pull things apart to see how they worked, and sometimes to try and fix them.
I still enjoy learning how things work and I still pull things apart to find out.
