Tenrecs are amazing animals! They are mammals that live in Madagascar and there are more than 30 different species which can all look very different.

Tenrecs mainly eat insects, and many of them have a long snout for poking about in the ground amoung the leaves and plants to find their food, and they can also eat worms and fruits. Some species of tenrec live in the water, and they can eat small fish and frogs.
I’m not sure what predators the tenrec has, I don’t think scientists know if anything eats them. They have spiky spines that protect them, so maybe that keeps any potential predators away.
