Question: Why did you want to create this website?

  1. I didn’t create the website, the organisers did that and then invited us scientists to participate.

Why did I choose to participate? I think it is important for scientists to talk to the community, including school students. This is so people interested in science can find out more about it, but also so everyone can understand what scientists do and why. Scientists contribute a lot to the community, but a lot of people in the community really don’t understand much about why we do what we do.

  2. To talk to students like you, answer your questions and so you can get to know me and what I do.

The image of a mad scientist working alone in a dark corner of a lab is such an old fashioned view of scientists and what they do. This website is to show that scientists are passionate people, who do interesting jobs, and are (sometimes) cool people too.
